Inner Anger, Outwardly Displayed

I just got angry with a customer service representative regarding some interest that was charged to my credit card.  That person didn’t deserve my anger.  The anger was really directed at me for not doing what I should have done, and unfortunately, I make a black cloud in someone else’s day.  Please forgive me…

When I let worldly concerns get the best of me, my behavior can be ugly.  Anger shuts out all my positive emotions and I am in a place where everyone is wrong and I am the only one who is right.  Even though I was wrong, I didn’t want to admit it, so I blamed others and took my anger out on someone who was the unlucky recipient.  Now I look at my actions and realize how poorly I have acted.  If only I had taken time to breathe and slow down, this encounter might have been different.

The more I travel on this journey of life, the more I realize that any impatience I find in others is usually a reflection of some impatience I have with myself.  It is not always fun to look at my own behavior and see that my own actions caused an altercation.  Even though we live in a society where blaming others for our own faults is commonplace, I don’t want to fall into that category.  I am choosing to change my behavior now so that I don’t create another negative flow of energy moving out into the world.

I want to share with you what I did to calm down.  With each statement, take deep breaths in to bring peace, and on the exhale, release any negativity.  Repeat the statements as needed.

Today, I choose peace.

I choose love.

I choose peace.

I release the knot in my stomach.

I choose love.

I loosen the tightness in my neck, shoulders and chest.

I choose peace.

I clear my head of negative thoughts.

I forgive myself and others.

I choose peace.

I choose love.

I choose to be present in this moment.

I let my heart lead and not my head.

I choose peace.

I allow myself to relax.

When I am present, God leads me in love.

I dwell in love.

I am present now.

God is in me, and I am in God.

I am peace.

I am love.

May your actions today bring more love and peace into the world that is so in need of our positive presence!
